Free, fifteen minutes, and no commitment. We look at your curl pattern and talk about what you want.
The cut is done dry
Most haircuts are cut wet, in sections, under tension. This one isn't. We cut dry, curl by curl, working to the overall shape and how each curl falls against the next.
Then it's washed, styled and explained
Afterwards we wash your hair and talk you through how to look after your curls, step by step. Only Curls products go on, we diffuse dry, and you leave knowing what to use and how to use it.
Before you come
- Wash your hair the day before or that morning, and detangle it fully.
- Come with it styled curly. Product is fine, as long as it isn't too strong and the hair still moves.
- Hair down, not tied up — we need to see your curl pattern.
- Allow at least 90 minutes.
We ask for 48 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment.

Questions people ask
Do I come with my hair washed or dry?
Washed either the day before or the morning of your appointment, and fully detangled. Come with it styled curly — product is fine as long as it isn't too strong and the hair still moves. Please arrive with your hair down rather than tied up, because we need to see your curls as they really fall.
How long does a curl appointment take?
Allow at least 90 minutes.
Does it cost more than a normal cut?
Yes. A Curl by Curl Cut starts at £80, against £57 for a standard cut and finish — it takes longer and it's a different way of working. The consultation beforehand is free.
I'm growing out a bad layer. Can you help?
Start with the free consultation. Cutting to the overall shape rather than in sections is the point of the method, so bring the problem and we'll tell you honestly what can be done and how long it will take.
